The Difference
What Sets Our Goat Milk Skin Products Apart - Not all goat milk soaps are created equal. Here's what makes ours stand out—and what we intentionally leave out.
1. Fresh, Raw Goat Milk — Never Powdered or Diluted
We use 100% fresh goat milk from our own pasture-raised goat herd, not powdered milk or watered-down substitutes. This means your skin benefits from the full spectrum of natural fats, proteins, vitamins, and exfoliating lactic acid—for hydration, softness, and glow.
2. 100% Botanical-Based — No Tallow, No Collagen
Many soaps rely on animal fats or collagen to bulk up their formulas. We don’t.
-
Tallow (rendered animal fat) is cheap but can clog pores and lacks skin-nourishing nutrients.
-
Collagen, while trendy, doesn't penetrate the skin and often leaves a waxy, coated feel that prevents the skin from breathing.
What we use instead: Nutrient-rich plant oils and butters like mango, shea, calendula-infused oils, olive, and jojoba. The only animal ingredient in our soap is the goat milk we lovingly produce ourselves.
3. From Our Herd to Your Skin
We raise our own American Dairy Goat Association-registered goats, with this genealogy our goats are specifically selected for their rich, high-butterfat milk. Raised with care and respect, our goats are the heart of every products we make.
4. Small-Batch, Cold-Processed Craftsmanship
Each bar is hand-poured using the traditional cold process method, which preserves the naturally occurring glycerin—a key element for skin moisture and barrier support. Most commercial soaps remove it. We keep it right where your skin needs it.
5. Scented by Nature, Colored by Earth
No synthetic perfumes. No artificial dyes. We scent our soaps using pure essential oils and color them with clays, botanicals, and herbs like pink clay, charcoal, turmeric, and spirulina. What you see and smell is 100% from nature.
6. Gentle Enough for Sensitive Skin
Our formulas are free from harsh detergents, foaming agents, fillers, and preservatives, making them suitable for even dry, eczema-prone, or sensitive skin.
What We Never Use — and Why
While other brands may add these ingredients, we never do. Here's why—and what we use instead:
7. Artificial Colorants (FD&C / D&C Dyes)
Why we avoid them: Can cause allergic reactions and skin irritation, especially on delicate or reactive skin.
What we use instead: Mineral clays, herbs, and botanicals for safe, earthy color.
8. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) / Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES)
Why we avoid them: These harsh detergents strip skin of natural oils and can cause dryness or eczema.
What we use instead: Rich lather is naturally created through coconut oil and castor oil.
9. Propylene Glycol
Why we avoid it: Petroleum-based, may irritate or sensitize skin.
What we use instead: Glycerin and sugars naturally created in the soapmaking process to retain moisture.
10. Parabens
Why we avoid them: Linked to hormone disruption and not welcome in clean skincare.
What we use instead: We don’t use preservatives in our solid soap bars. In other products, we use vitamin E and rosemary extract when needed.
11. EDTA (Tetrasodium / Disodium)
Why we avoid it: Synthetic and harmful to the environment, with potential for skin irritation.
What we use instead: Quality plant oils do the job without compromise.
12. Synthetic Micas / Plastic-Based Glitter
Why we avoid them: Often made with plastics or unethically sourced minerals. Not biodegradable.
What we use instead: Clays, charcoal, turmeric, and botanical powders that are skin-safe and earth-friendly.
13. Petroleum Derivatives (Mineral Oil, Petrolatum, PEGs)
Why we avoid them: They coat the skin without nourishing it, and don’t allow proper absorption.
What we use instead: Olive, apricot, almond, and jojoba oils that feed the skin with vitamins and essential fatty acids.
14. Phenoxyethanol
Why we avoid it: Synthetic preservative that can irritate lips, eyes, and sensitive skin.
What we use instead: We avoid preservatives in soap. When necessary in lotions, we use eco-certified, minimal-presence alternatives.
15. Triclosan
Why we avoid it: Banned in many countries for being a hormone disruptor and environmental pollutant.
What we use instead: Natural antimicrobials like tea tree, rosemary, and lavender essential oils.
16. Palm Oil (unless sustainably sourced)
Why we avoid it: Often linked to deforestation and unethical labor.
What we use instead: Mango butter, shea butter, and olive oil—rich, responsible, and skin-loving.
